SKINBIOSIS ACTIVE Hydrating and Firming Serum has been specifically formulated to balance and assists the skin’s natural ability to correct itself. It does this in three ways:
1. Replenishes Hyaluronic Acid content
Hyaluronic Acid is naturally found within healthy skin; however the amount decreases with age leading to loss of hydration and moisture over time. This decrease affects normal skin function and ultimately results in fine lines and wrinkles, loss of elasticity and a decrease in collagen – the natural support structure of the skin. We use the lowest molecular weight HA in our serum, which is clinically proven to deeply penetrate into the dermis of the skin, increase hydration and reduce fine lines and wrinkles.
2. Boost skins Natural Defence System
Found primarily in the epidermis, Langerhans cells are a key element within the skin’s natural defence system. They protect the skin from harmful toxins and micro-organisms and naturally assist in skin repair. UV from excessive exposure to sunlight, chlorine in the water and harmful chemicals in skincare can all lead to the breakdown of these important cells.
Beta Glucan is a clinically effective ingredient also found in a maximum concentration in this serum. Beta Glucan has the natural ability to stimulate and activate Langerhan cells found within the Epidermis. It is also clinically proven to promote the growth of new skin cells, boost hydration, and stimulate fibroblasts and collagen production which leads to reduction in fine lines and wrinkles.
3. Replenishes the skins Natural Moisturising Factor (NMF)
NMF components are highly efficient humectants found naturally within healthy skin cells. They are of key importance in the maintenance of skin hydration. They keep skin moist and pliable due to their ability to attract and hold water. They attract water toward the Epidermis from the Dermis and from the outside environment when the humidity reaches 80%. Water is absolutely essential for the normal functioning of the skin and especially the stratum corneum (SC).
Water in the SC is dependent on two major components:
a) The presence of these natural hygroscopic agents within skin cells (collectively referred to as the Natural Moisturizing Factor).
b) Intercellular lipids, which surround these cells and provide an impermeable barrier by preventing the loss of Water and NMF’s out of the skin. Trans Epidermal Water Loss (TEWL) impairs normal skin function required for desquamation, resulting in the visible appearance of dry, flaky skin. After the age of 40 there is a sharp decline in skin lipids, leading to drier skin.

Niacinamide - Vitamin B3 -10%: Anti-inflammatory and extremely hydrating, Niacinamide is clinically proven to provide a broad array of improvements in the appearance of facial skin such as a reduction in fine lines and wrinkles, hyper-pigmentation, red blotchiness and skin irritation. Niacinamide is an excellent skin brightening active, antioxidant and is effective in alleviating symptoms of mild to moderate acne.
Hyaluronic Acid (<5 kDa): The Gold standard in skin hydration. In clinical studies Low weight HA (<5kDa) was associated with significant reduction of wrinkle depth, due to better penetration abilities. When applied to skin it significantly boosts skin elasticity & hydration in the deeper (dermal) layers.
Beta Glucan (Oat): Boosts skins natural defence system. Used for scar and tissue healing. Beta Glucan has the ability is to enter the epidermis and penetrate deep into the dermis where it stimulates fibroblasts and production of collagen. It also effectively assists penetration of other actives.
Matricaria Chamomilla (Blue Chamomile) Oil: A high frequency and highly regenerative purified, blue oil which exhibits powerful anti-inflammatory properties and antioxidant benefits. It has an extraordinary cooling effect that immediately calms & soothes the skin.
Helichrysum Italicum (Immortelle) Oil: A high frequency and powerful skin regenerating oil used for scar and tissue healing.
Directions of Use
- Apply serum to slightly dampened skin directly after cleansing with warm water.
- Water makes the skin more permeable which is why a serum will penetrate better after cleansing.
The increased temperature of the skin will also help increase the penetration of active ingredients.
- Apply a moisturising oil over the top of the serum to seal in actives and prevent water loss.
- Use once or twice a day.
